We are all aware that gas prices and other factors are having an effect on our economy. So GBM and IHRA are trying to do our part by putting together the following programs to help racers and spectators who are interested in attending and/or competing in the Mopar Canadian Nationals this coming July 18th to 20th.

The first program available is for all the racers in the Non Professional classes – Every racer who enters the Mopar Canadian Nationals will receive a Free Crew entry into the first IHRA Summit Pro Am race being held in Canada at Grand Bend Motorplex August 22-24th 2008. While this does not alleviate any travel costs it does help lower the racer/crew cost to enter the Pro Am event. ( The credit will be applied when they return for the Pro Am race)

The second program is an additional program available to all the racers who enter our ET Box, No Box and Bike classes. Thanks to support from one of GBM’s largest weekly supporters (Rudy Held’s Performance Centre) every racer who enters these classes will also receive a free crew entry. Thanks to Rudy, it is now cheaper for a racer and his crew to race in the Mopar Canadian Nationals, than it is to watch the event. For example a weekend entry into these classes is $190 which includes the driver, one crew member and their pit spot – A weekend ticket to watch the event with camping is $125 or $250 for two – that is a $60 savings plus you have a chance to win money & contingency, and the savings increase with every crew member you add. Space in these classes is limited so get your spot now! This offer does not pertain to the new Junior 7.90 Heads up class (First time for Junior dragsters in an Eastern IHRA National event) since the crew aspect has already been considered in the reduced tech card fee of $100.

The Spectator deal – Every person who buys a Mopar Canadian Nationals Spectator ticket in advance will receive a Free ticket to Canada’s first IHRA Summit Pro Am race at GBM August 22-24th. (This race will feature all the same classes you see at the Mopar Canadian Nationals except for the Pro classes) If you buy a weekend pass to the Mopar Canadian Nationals you will get 2 Free tickets to the Summit Pro Am race (each ticket is worth $20).
