Even though the first all Junior Dragster Team Finals at Pittsburgh Raceway park got off to a slow start due to lightning striking the scoreboards and timing system, racing got under way with a big bang. The track representatives voted to move the main event up a day as the forecast was 70% rain for Sunday. Junior competitors from nine tracks waited patiently as PRP track personnel changed out all the electrical parts. Rain again delayed the racing around 7:30 with round two almost completed.

Maryland International team #1 is in first place with 15 points followed closely by Milan Dragway with 9 points. Pittsburgh Raceway team #2 is in third place with 8 points and Capitol Raceway has 7 points. Pittsburgh Raceway team #1 and Beaver Springs Dragway are tied with 6 points while Maryland International’s team 2 has 5 points. Hot on their trails are PRP team # - 4 points, MIR team #3 – 3 points, Thompson Dragway – 2 points and Dragway 42, Motor Mile Dragway and Natural Bridge Dragway all with one point.

The finals in the 8-9 year old class saw Robert Estevez from MIR taking the win light against Louie Estevez also of MIR. Racing will resume Sunday morning at 8:00 am (weather permitting).
