Competed at five IHRA events, qualified for four races. Qualified for first NHRA national event in Top Fuel in his second start at his home track in Chicago in September. Ran NHRA career-best 4.773 in a quarterfinal finish.
2002: Made NHRA Top Fuel debut in Chicago in September, qualified at all three IHRA national events he attended (Martin, Norwalk and Rockingham).
