Race Tech Sponsors “Free Ride” Program
Thirty-five Mr. Gasket Pro-Am competitors eligible for $10,000 Prize

IHRA and Race Tech Race Cars have announced that racers competing on the Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Tour will have a special program to look forward to in 2006. Race Tech Race Cars will sponsor the Race Tech “Free Ride” program, which will award one driver with a grand prize $10,000 gift certificate or second place prize Silver Card at the end of the season.

“After a successful program in 2005, we’re glad Race Tech has returned to support our Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Tour competitors,” said IHRA Vice President of Racing Operations Skooter Peaco. “Every time a racer goes to a divisional event, whether it’s the first race or the last race of the season, they have the chance to become eligible for these great prizes.”

The Race Tech “Free Ride” program will be open to all event competitors in any of the 35 Mr. Gasket Pro-Am event points classes. After each event, the race director will blind draw one competitor’s tech card. The 35 winning cards will be placed together at the final event at Carolina Dragway, September 15-17, and one card will be selected as the winner of the Race Tech $10,000 gift certificate, and a second for the Pro-Am Tour Silver Card, granting free car-and-driver entry at all Pro-Am events within your division.

In addition, Race Tech will be awarding the Summit SuperSeries Box champion with a turn key dragster. (More details will follow in an upcoming story).

“We decided to develop this program to give something back to the IHRA sportsman racers that have supported us over the last 17 years,” said Race Tech general manager/marketing director Tim Ratican. “In 2006 we’ve created the program so that every Pro-Am competitor is eligible and has a chance to win the $10,000 gift certificate and Silver Card.”
