Points Clarification
This notice is to clarify any question regarding minimum
and maximum claims toward championships on the Pro Am
level.
Your
point totals are calculated from the best 5 of the first
7 events you attend. If you are to participate in the
maximum number of events permitted in order to have
the most possible chances to derive the highest total,
you may attend 5 in division and 2 out of your home
division. You have the option of attending a maximum
of 3 out of division and 4 in as well.
You
may attend more than 3 out of division events however,
only the first 3 will count toward your season total.
If you attend 3 out of division events prior to your
5th in division, the 5th in division event will not
count toward your total.
If
you do not attend 4 in division events, your potential
claims will be reduced by the amount less than 4. (Ex.)
If you attend 3 in and 4 out, your total would be based
upon your best 3 in division and your first 3 out of
division (best 5 of 6). This is consistent with the
procedures we utilized in 2003 and is not a change in
policy for this season.
Attn.
Mr. Gasket Pro-Am Event Competitors:
If an event is rescheduled to a later date (do to weather
or another conflict), it will be factored into the point
standings based on the new date. For example, the Tri-State
Dragway event, originally the first event for Division
3 competitors, was rescheduled for September 17-19 and
is now considered the fifth and final race for that
division.
Please be aware that if you max-out on your potential
seven-event points claims prior to finishing this event,
Tri-State will not be factored into your points. (Note:
Of the seven potential race claims, it is the first
seven you attend. You can utilize in-division events
and the first three out-of-division events, in varying
combinations, to reach the seven claims.)
